Hi,
I have 2 routers RUT956 running a custom script that periodically saves the GPS coordinates in a permanent file. The script is launched automatically at boot. Unfortunately, I set a wrong maximum size of the file and, consequently, I think the devices have run out of space. The last time I saw the storage usage of the two devices it was dangerously high. However, from that moment on the two routers have not become available through the RMS platform.
The first router, even if is not able to correctly connect to the RMS platform, continues behaving as a router and forwarding to our server data packets generated by other sensors that are directly connected with him. However, if I look at the " Latest connection attempts" of the device in the RMS platform I see that the device rarely tries to connect to the RMS. Due to the correct behaviour with sensor data, I think the problem is not related to a poor/absent internet connection. In fact, I don’t understand why the router is able to send data packets correctly when needed but is not able to retry periodically to connect to the RMS.
The second one, instead, seems to be completely dead since the moment I saw that the size of the file was reaching a very high value.
The problem is that at the moment I cannot access to the admin web page of the two routers from the local area network because they are installed in a location far from me. So, I would prefer doing that only as the last attempt to fix the problem.
Are there some additional ways to connect to the CLI of the two routers? Are there some ways to upload asynchronously a backup image to “reset” the two routers? If this would be possible, would the backup image reset the whole storage to a previous situation (consequently, deleting this heavy file) or it would affect only the partitions related to the OS?
Routers firmware version: RUT9M_R_00.07.09.1
Best regards,
Federico
