RUT956 OpenVPN doesnt reconnect when WAN fallback occurs

I am running OpenVPN client on my RUT 956 with cellular as my primary WAN and ethernet WAN as fallback. OpenVPN works normally cellular. When cellular drops out or is disabled the OpenVPN connection drops, the RUT reverts to ethernet WAN but doesnt not reconnect OpenVPN.
If I send an SMS to the RUT to turn VPN off and on, the VPN will start to work on Ethernet WAN. Is there a configuration or option that I may be missing? Thanks
RUT956 firmware 7.10.2

Greetings,

My very first suggestion would be to try and see if the issue replicates itself on the latest available firmware: RUT956 Firmware Downloads - Teltonika Networks Wiki

If the issue does still appear even after upgrading, I kindly ask you to fill out the form that I’ve sent you, in the ticket ID field, simply enter 13997, and I’ll reach out to you via e-mail shortly after.

M.

Thanks for the advice. I will run a test of the 7.13.4 next week and see if this works better. Cheers
David

Hi MatasR
Thanks for your help. Unfortuantely the different firmware didnt change the result. We have tried 7.13.4 and had the same outcome when we disabled the cellular. The system switched over to the WAN but the OpenVPN didn’t reconnect.
Is there anything else that you can think of for us to try.
Thanks
David

Hello, David,

Thanks for trying the suggestion out. In that case, as mentioned in my previous message, please fill out the form I’ve sent you, and I’ll reach out to you via e-mail to discuss and investigate the issue further. I’ll collect the troubleshooting file to check the logs to see if I find anything out of the ordinary.

Regards,
M.
