Rut956 intermittent connection

I am experiencing an odd situation with a Rut956. Started with connection coming and going - both wifi but also connection to internet via sim card. Rebooted a number of times but no difference. Did a factory reset but still no change.

There are notifications; Mobile ESM reject cause: Unknown ; and, All available APNs were tried on the mob1s1a1 interface, unable to make connection to operator. Asks for custom APN

APN is set to AutoAPN and was before factory reset as well.

The firmware was updated about three weeks ago (cannot remember number). After factory reset the firmware version is 00.07.19.4. With no connection I cannot update to any newer version should there be one.

Before proceeding with further troubleshooting, it would be best to first determine whether the SIM card itself is functioning properly. Could you please test it in another device (such as your mobile phone) and check if you are able to get an internet connection?

If the SIM card works in another device, you could try entering the APN manually. To do this, navigate to Network → Mobile → General , where you will be able to set the APN as shown in the image below.


Please keep in mind that the APN settings depend on the operator you are using, so you may want to confirm the correct APN details with them.

Another step you can try is going to Network → Mobile → Connection and setting the preferred network type to 4G only .
