Rut955 V7 firmware upgrate to WEBUI

Hello, my Rut955 has the latest legacy firmware, RUT9XX_R_00.06.09.5. when trying to upgrade from the server to RUT9_R_00.07.06.18 I get this error (with or without the save configuratio checked).

Firmware upgrade - verification failed

Legacy-design (RUT955 7V) devices could not be upgraded to a firmware version newer than RUT9XX_R_00.07.00. Click here for more info.*
Ensure to get a correct firmware image and try to upgrade again.

Also, I downloaded the RUT9_R_00.07.00_WEBUI.bin file, but still the same error.

Is it possible to :swap: from legacy to webui firmware or not? I noticed the device is eol, but the firmware 7.00 is from 2021.

best regards,
cosmin

Hello,

As @hrtx has mentioned, your specific device code is considered a pre-facelift version, and the device only supports firmware versions up to the latest legacy one.

If you wish to experience newer firmwares, then I suppose it could be a good time to look for an upgrade.

M.

Thank you very much @hrtx and @MatasR for your quick and precise reply. Unfortunatelly for now the case or replacing my product is not an option due to costs, also the current one is running, I was just thinking about giving it an updated interface. Pitty thou I cannot make the update.

Hi @MatasR ,
I’m also wondering if our device is “upgradable” to new WebUI version (07.xx). Below are the details of the device:

Also, I’d like to ask if there is a more “generic” way to find out if the device is upgradable (batch number or hw version from which it’s possible to upgrade)? We have more RUT950 models in our network.

Thanks in advance.

Jonas S.

Hello,

For you specifically, your product order code contains G1, meaning it will not allow you to upgrade any further as well:

This information can be found on the respective firmware download page for any of our devices.

For the future, a note as well @JonasIGN and @ccosmin , I’ve deleted both of your images to avoid any issues, please blur out any sensitive information (MAC address, passwords, serial numbers, etc.) in the future when posting images. Thank you!!!

Regards,
M.
