RUT955: Unable to add an SSID (2.4 GHz radios already have one client )

I have firmware:
RUT9_R_00.07.06.15

I have my RUT955 router set up as an access point in my camper van and two existing SSID clients exist in my list. One client connects the RUT955 to my home network. I am trying to scan/add a new client to connect it to a Starlink Mini SSID (which is set up with a 2.4GHz setting) and I see it in the scanned list for selection . When I select this or any other SSID from the scanned list I get the message ‘2.4 GHz radio(s) already have one client or Multi AP.’ In the past I have been able to scan and add SSIDs. Do I need to delete my existing Access Point and recreate as a Multi-AP?

Hi,
if you want to add both SSIDs as a list, then yes, you should delete first one and add new as Multi-AP.
Take a backup of your current configuration and try out

Thanks Simonas, I deleted the existing AP , then needed to connect via ethernet. I was able to delete the existing client SSIDs. So no SSIDs in list. I then created a Multi-AP but could not see where to scan for SSIDs. So went to Network/Wireless and scanned for SSIds, I selected my Starlink 2.4GHz one and it connected. But then I got the message ‘2.4 GHz radio(s) already have one client or Multi AP’ when I tried to scan to add my home wifi SSID from the scanned list. Is there a specific order of things I need to follow to set this up? I tried the Setup Wizard but this did not enable me to scan for any SSIDs. My scenario seems simple:
RUT955 in campervan, I want it to use wifi from it to connect either to my home wifi , or my Starlink wifi and to add other SSIDs in campsites when I visit them. I do not have a list of SSIds to upload , I want to scan and select them as required.

There is a guide.

I have created the MultiAP (LiviaMultiAP) and manually added my home WiFi SSID (Sequoia) and my Starlink SSID (Livia-*2.4) and they have saved as Access Points within the MultiAP. But I do not see the SSID to access the RUT955 from my iPhone, I am expecting to see LiviaMultiAP to be visible on my client devices

I have found that if I have one AP for my home WiFi set up (LiviaAP) then I can see it listed in my iPhone, and I can connect to it, but if I set up the same AP in a Multi AP then nothing shows up from my iPhone. It seems the Multi AP is not sending out any name for selection from my iPhone. I have a Troubleshooting file but am unable to post it here.

Add one more section to Wireless->SSIDs.

Multi-AP only connect your router to available AP, it does not transmit AP itself.
Create one more row with mode AP, then you will be able to connect to router.

Thanks Simonas, I have now added a few SSIDs to the Multi AP. However my iPhone does not see an SSID for the router. I want to connect by WiFi to the router for admin tasks and I have devices in my van that need to connect by WiFi to the router. My iPhones, iPad, laptop, TV, Firestick, Radio, Victron devices should be able to see the SSID for the router to be able to connect. The router should connect to any one of the SSIDs in its Multi AP list that it is in range of. On the Overview page I see the Multi AP is running and the network Livia1 says it is wireless, I have set the network on Multi AP to be Livia1.

You need to do like this:

Press add and select mode “Access Point”, then enter SSID, then other options and save.

Now you will find router in your iphone.

Thanks Simonas, I set up the second SSID entry as an AP , rebooted the router for completeness and now I can see the router from other devices. It did take around 30 minutes after rebooting for the DHCP to allocate valid IP addresses but it has now worked. However when I look at the APs I had set up under the Multi AP there are none listed. Yet it is using the AP for my home router to compete the connection. I will mark the issue as resolved for now and will continue to monitor.
