Hello Teltonika Team,
I have had a RUT955 installed in my vehicle for 2 years. Unfortunately, after a few days sometimes weeks, the problem always occurs that the router is no longer visible and accessible via wifi. Resetting or disconnecting the power supply does not solve the problem, only access via the Lan connection (RJ45) to the user interface and a restart triggered from there reactivates the WLAN network.
Hotspot mode only (LTE->WLAN)
one SIM Card
Firmware up to date
Automatic restart once a week
Unfortunately, the problem cannot be reproduced, after a few days the router can no longer be found in the WLAN.
As I don’t always want to drive around with a laptop, which I then need for 5 minutes every now and then to wake up my router, I’m hoping you have any Ideas.
Could you please specify when this issue started occurring? Was it after a specific configuration change, or has it been happening since you first used the router?
Please ensure that you have the latest 06.13 firmware version installed on your device, as new firmware versions often include improvements and issue fixes. You can download the latest firmware for your device from our wiki page: RUT955 Firmware Downloads - Teltonika Networks Wiki
If you haven’t tried performing a factory reset, please do so. This recovery option resets all settings to their default values and may be useful in your case. Detailed instructions for performing a factory reset can be found here: RUT955 Device Recovery Options - Teltonika Networks Wiki
Hello,
The problem occurred right from the start, at first I thought it was a setting error that I had caused. It also took me a while to believe that there was a fault in the device.
To answer your questions, yes, I have carried out factory resets several times, actually every time the error occurred, because there is no other way to get the Wifi to work. Or you can get the wifi to work, but no internet connection is possible. (Client message: Connected - no Internet) After the factory reset, everything works again for a few days or weeks as if nothing had happened.
I always download the latest firmware from the Teltonika server after the reset, in the hope that this will fix the bug.
To better understand the issue, I would like to review a troubleshoot file that was downloaded immediately after the problem occurred. I have sent you a form to fill out. Once completed, I will contact you privately regarding this. Please use the ticket ID “6940” when filling out the form.
I currently have the problem, but yesterday I spent 2 hours trying to re-establish the connection while avoiding a factory reset. So I tweaked a few settings. I also managed to re-establish the wifi, but not with an internet connection.
I had planned to do the factory reset this evening, in the hope that it will then work again for a while.
I understand your situation. You should receive an email from us shortly regarding the issue. Analyzing the logs will help us determine the cause of the problem and assist you in resolving it.
Yes I have received an answer, unfortunately I had already set up the recommended automatic restart 2 years ago. So it didn’t really get me anywhere. But I have found another solution to at least avoid the factory reset. If I restore my last standard configuration via cable, the router can be found again and the Internet is also available again via Wifi. Unfortunately, this does not bring me any closer to the reason why the router forgets this configuration at irregular intervals.
