RUT955 Setup for Ag RTK

I purchased a tractor with a gps system in it. It came with a Teltonika RUT955 box. Up until now I have not needed RTK but would like to start using it now. Unfortunately the RUT955 was not hooked up and does not have any wiring for it. Was wondering if there any help on what wiring I need, and how/where to hook things up to? It is going to be working with a Claas GPS system. I would like to use WIFI to be able to use my farm RTK base station. Please help of possible. Thanks!

Hello,

Since we aren’t directly familiar with the specifics of Claas GPS systems and their RTK integration, I’d assume your RUT955 would serve for internet/GNSS signal reception on the rover side (your tractor), while your RTK base station would have its own GNSS antenna and send correction data to the rover?

A few things I’d need to confirm according to current information:

  • How will the communication between your base station and rover be handled?
Will it be via radio link, NTRIP, or direct TCP/IP connection over cellular or WiFi?
  • Did the RUT955 come without any power cabling at all, including its PSU?
If so, how do you intend to power it — via your tractor’s battery or an external supply?

As for connecting the base station to RUT’s WiFi, the process is quite straightforward and won’t involve any of the challenging steps. WiFi AP’s configuration settings can be found on the router’s WebUI Network → Wireless page. All the necessary information for RUT955 wireless settings are available on wiki page here: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUT955_Wireless
