RUT955 No GPS signal

Hello, i upgraded FW on our RUT955 device and now it can not connect GPS. I updated modem and fw version to latest version. What could be the reason for that problem now?

Thank you in advance.

Klemen

Hello,

Thanks for reaching us.

Kindly note the following points for troubleshooting:

  • To make sure, Please try doing a firmware upgrade to the “7.06.1”, you can find the firmware file on link below
RUT955 Firmware Downloads - Teltonika Networks Wiki
You can upgrade the firmware on the router following below:
WebUI > System > Firmware > Update firmware > Upload the firmware

Note: Doing the firmware upgrade without “Keep settings” option ON will wipe out all existing configurations, and device might lose remote connectivity. Therefore, It will be up to you whether to keep the setting or not, as it is an optional decision from your end. and it is advisable to perform the firmware upgrade when the device is physically accessible to you or if you can ensure remote access through RMS or SMS Utilities as backup access.

  • Another thing, make sure you have turned on ALL Satellite Configuration in Services > GPS > General. as per the screenshot below:

  • Kindly make sure that the GNSS / GPS antenna is inserted well in the correct port on back panel of the router.

  • Please ensure that your location is reachable to the satellite for proceeding with providing GPS data.

Thanks

Hello. Thanks for reply. I was on FW “7.06.1” and today i installed it again through file from link in post.
Antenna is inserted ok in the GPS port like you marked in the post.
Interesting thing is that in other device that is in the field i have a situation that i can not find GPS section in web GUI so i can not check GPS settings, but i am getting GPS data from router so it looks like it is working.
Can you tell me how can i get beck GPS section in WEB GUI.

With regards,
Klemen

Hello,

Kindly make sure that you are in Advanced mode.

If still the issue persists, There might be an issue in your modem, so i would like to suggest to contact one of our sales manager to proceed with RMA, RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization): If standard recovery methods are ineffective, the device may need to be sent for warranty repair.
