RUT955 max speed of 12-13Mbps

Hi,

I am having some issues with a RUT955 having very slow connection speeds of ma 12-13 Mbps.

We already did a factory reset and complete new firmaware installation via bootloader, tried multiple SIM cards and LTE antennas (with proper fastening!), even used an Antenna that normally is connected to a RUTX50.

The documentation tells about speeds of 130Mbps per second which is never reached.

Might this router be broken?

What firmware version are you using? What are your mobile signal readings? Can you provide a screenshot of the Status → Network → Mobile page?

We are using the newest stable version RUT9_R_00.07.06.3 just downloaded yesterday.
Here are the screenshots that you requested.

Please keep in mind that we tried multiple locations and even ran a test connection in a different campervan using the installed antenna.

The other campervan (with RUTX50) is speeds >100Mbps (4G) with their own router, but when switched to the RUT955 speeds were limited to below 13Mbps… Even without band aggregation, I would have expected at least double the speed.

Firstly, with signal values like that, it’s surprising that you get a stable connection or any connection at all. Could you please specify what kind of antennas you are using and describe your setup? As I understand it, you are using a camper van setup, correct?

Furthermore, comparing the Rut955 with the RUTX50 seems a bit unfair because the RUTX50 is much more recent and capable. Also, the Rut955 is an LTE Cat4 device and does not support carrier aggregation.

The speeds mentioned in the documentation are theoretical and can only be achieved under perfect conditions, which your router setup is currently far from.
