RUT955 "internal modem unreachable"

Hello,

I have a problem with my RUT955.
It worked perfectly for a long time, but about two weeks ago it started having problems with various sim-cards that worked in other devices and then the mobile functions stopped working completely.

Now when I acces the web interface there are no details about the mobile settings anymore and on the main page it says “internal modem unreachable”.

I tried updating the firmware and factory reset, but still the same.

I also tried using the lsusb command in the CLI because I read that on another thread here. Got back this:

| _ \ _ _| |_ / _ \/ ___|
| |_) | | | | __| | | \___ \
| _ <| |_| | |_| |_| |___) |
|_| \_\\__,_|\__|\___/|____/

  Teltonika RUT9 series 2025

Device: RUT955
Kernel: 5.4.291
Firmware: RUT9_R_00.07.06.18
Build: ce8057a9b2c
Build date: 2025-04-08 06:56:16

root@RUT955:~# lsusb
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002

That’s all.

There’s no warranty anymore on the device. If I read every thread I found correctly, that would mean the modem is not recoverable.

Any help or at least a confirmation that I need a new router would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hello,

Unfortunately, based on the output of the lsusb command, the modem device is not recoverable and cannot be restored programmatically. Therefore, the modem must be physically replaced or recovered within the router in order for it to function normally again.

Best regards,
