RUT955 - Failover config

I have a problem I’m trying to understand.

We are using RUT955 Routers.
FW: RUT9_R_00.07.04.2

We have Stations which primarly have DSL and a backup SIM in Slot 1.

So my failover config would be this:

WAN Primary and mob1s1a1 for SIM1 secondary?

I’m getting confused as WWAN0 also gets referenced as Interface for Mobile Connections and a show route on the cli only shows WWAN0 and not mob1s1a1.

So is it safe to disable WWAN0 in failover when mob1s1a1 is enabled?

Hello,

Both, Mob1s1a1 (SIM1) and Mob1s2a1 (SIM2) interfaces are logical interfaces for the wwan0 interface. In the WebUI, there should be no wwan0 and you should only see the logical mob1s1a1 and mob1s2a1 interfaces. Could you please clarify why the wwan0 interface is in the failover menu?

I would suggest updating the device to the latest firmare version which can be downloaded from here. Please, update with ‘keep settings’ option disabled to ensure that there are no issues after the update. However, keep in mind that this will erase your current configurations and you will need to reconfigure the device. So if the device is in a remote location and you do not have access to it, please avoid updating the device as you may lose remote access.

Kind Regards,

It is the latest mass production firmware (if you update through teltonika rms).

I have also updated one to RUT9_R_00.07.04.5 issue is the same.

I can not reset the devices to factory. Those devices are spread around the country and thats not an option.

Hello,

When mob1s1a1 is used, the route in CLI will show wwan0.

Could you please clarify if failover is working properly? If everything is working properly, you can leave it.

Maybe you added the wwan0 interface yourself in Network → WAN? If so, did you configure anything on it?

Kind Regards,
