Please could I get some assistance. We upgraded a couple of RUT951 routers to 7.12 and 7.12.3 since the upgrade the routers are not failing over as they should, we need to disable the WAN port to get it to failover to the SIMS. The VPN is also not connecting automatically to get it to connect we need to disable and reenable
Could you please let me know from which firmware version you have updated the devices? Also, did you update them with the “Keep settings” option?
Could you clarify what you mean by “devices are not failing over as they should”? Specifically, what is your primary WAN and backup WAN? Are the devices not switching to the backup WAN when the primary WAN stops responding to pings, or is there another issue?
Regarding the VPN, could you please specify which VPN you are using?
I did not do the update myself but I suspect the client did opt to keep the settings as the device did not need to be setup again.
The firmware update was from 7.12 to 7.12.3.
Primary WAN is a fiber connection (Ethernet) we are using 2 different SIM cards for the failovers. When the WAN fails, the device does not reconnect using 1 of the SIM cards. We need to disable the WAN for the device to failover to SIM cards.
I want to inform you that this is a firmware issue. Our developers are aware of it and are actively working on a solution. The fix is expected to be implemented in the next firmware release in the near future.
