RUT950 problem to update firmware update

Dear Community,

I have a RUT 950 router, which had firmware RUT9_R_00.07.01.4 installed.
Sadly, it was impossible to upgrade to the latest firmware RUT9_R_00.07.06.20.
Although the MD5 hash was proper, the firmware upload over WebUI always displayed an error.

Assuming that something with the installed firmware might not have been installed properly, I flashed the latest legacy firmware RUT9XX_R_00.06.09.5. This worked so far fine and made possible to install also later versions of the firmware.

However although login to the WebUI was possible with newer firmware, the configuration of the mobile connection was not available (LED blinking red /green). When resetting the factory settings it was impossible to reach the RUT950, likely DHCP not starting at all. Fortunately, Bootloader mode made it always possible to go back to legacy.

Finally I have downgraded again to firmware RUT9XX_R_00.06.09.5.

Does anyone have an idea what could solve this issue, so that the latest firmware can be applied?

The wiki is also speaking about the possibility to upgrade/repair the Bootloader.
However I found nowhere a downloadable version.

Can someone please kindly assist me? Thank you!

Greetings,

Could you please confirm the product code of your router? You can find this by navigating to Status → System (FW version RUT9_R_00.07.00 and above is not supported on legacy-design RUT950 XG1XXXXX devices.)

Just to make sure I understand correctly: after upgrading to the latest legacy version with the bootloader, you are able to update the firmware to version 7.06.20, but it does not function properly and you are unable to configure the mobile settings. Is that correct?

Best Regards,
Justinas
