Hello. I tried updating the firmware on a RUT950. Unfortunately, after the update, the unit did not start normally. I tried hard reset, factory reset, and 5 minutes unplugged/non powered before connecting power. The power LED lights up green, but no other LEDs light up on the unit when I plug it in, and nothing indicates it is working.
Is it possible to “save” it?
First download firmware file for your device from here. Then follow these instructions to put your router in bootloader mode and access bootloader menu. Form bootloader menu select the file you downloaded and flash your device. Once the flashing is completed, let the device do its thing. It may take a while. Also keep in mind that all your configuration will be lost.
Keep in mind this will restore factory defaults after flashing.
Thank you, heartless. You do not live up to your handle.
I did not know such an actiion was possible. I’ll try it as soon as I can get hold of a RJ. Should it be a normal “straight” or a “twisted” type?
Thank you.
Thats the beauty of Teltonika devices. I prefer this flashing method for devices that have really old firmware. Flashing the latest version, and then resetting device to defaults once its flashed is the cleanest way to go.
Either one will do it. Use the same cable you used to communicate with the device before you updated your firmware.
I now succeeded by just following instructions on the link you provided. That was… well to be fair - that was exactly like most of my experience with Teltonika. Very non-fussy.
Regarding cable - I somehow got in my head that CAT6 came either “straight” (although twisted conductors inside) or the “twisted” type that was used for null-cabling two ethernet ports, when I was younger, without a hub/router. Yes, I’m really that old, I used to program on punch cards.
Again, thank you.
