RUT901 no output voltage detected

Hi all,

My company recently acquired a RUT901 and while testing it I run into a problem related with the output pin (pin 4).

The problem is that I am turning on the output via Teltonika web interface but nothing happens in the output voltage, i.e., the voltage remains 0V.

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out.

To clarify, the digital open collector (OC) output does not provide any voltage or current on its own. It only closes the circuit and can support up to 30 VDC, 300 mA. This means that an additional external power source is required in order to drive a load.

Could you please clarify your setup more thoroughly?

Best regards,

Hi Martynas,

Thank you for your reply.

Does it mean Pins 3 and 4 work as a Switch? Similar to a NO contact in a relay? Do I have to connect a living wire to Pin 3?

Thank you again. Best regards,

Hi Martynas,

I tried once again to get 24 V DC on the Output pin, but I still wasn’t successful.

I’ve attached a drawing of my current wiring setup (see image). Could you please review it and let me know what I might be doing wrong?

For reference, I also tried the second wiring configuration - the only difference being that in this version, I do see a “High level” on the Input pin (screenshot from the Teltonika WebUI attached).

Hello @LuisAmaralWavEC,

Thank you for sharing the pictures of your wiring diagram showing how the “Load” is connected to the device. After reviewing them, I can see there are some incorrect connections.

Instead of wiring it that way, please connect your load between the positive terminal of the power supply and the router’s digital output pin on the power connector.

For better understanding: you can think of the router’s digital output as an electronic switch, which closes the circuit towards ground (the negative terminal of the power supply).

Please refer to the correct wiring diagram below:

I hope this clarifies it, and let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Dear @anon65719490,

Thank you very much. It worked perfectly.

Best regards,
