RUT901 Connect to internet through wifi access point, not sim card

Hi,

I have inserted in my RUT901 a sim card for which the internet access is blocked, and I would like to temporarily get the internet connection on my RUT901 by connecting it to my smartphone which is configured as an access point. How must I configure my RUT 901 to achieve this?

Thanks

Hello,

To connect your RUT901 to WiFi, please follow the instructions provided here: RUT901 Wireless - Teltonika Networks Wiki

Additionally, make sure your device is running the latest 7.16.3 firmware version.
You can download it from: RUT901 Firmware Downloads - Teltonika Networks Wiki

Once downloaded, upload it via the WebUI by navigating to System → Firmware → Update Firmware.

Best regards,

Thank you for this information. My current firmware version is 7.15.1. I have downloaded the newest file (7.16.3), but when I browse the configuration interface of myRUT901, I do not find the menu option “update firmware”, or whatever it is called. Can you help me?

Hello,

You can upload firmware via the WebUI by navigating to System → Firmware → Update Firmware .

Best regards,

Thank you. Actually, the option “update firmware” was not available because I was not logged in as a root user. Now I logged as root user this option is available.

However I have started the procedure with the file version 7.16.3, but I got the following error :

Insufficient memory for this operation

Not enough free space in RAM. Disable unused services to free up the space and try again.

I am surprised since I have only installed the package IGMP Proxi. Is this one so big as to preempt such a large amount of memory?

Hello,

I recommend updating your device firmware via the bootloader menu. You can find the instructions here: RUT901 Device Recovery Options - Teltonika Networks Wiki

Please note that this process will restore the device to factory default settings.

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,
