I have had a teltonika RUT360 about two years now and it have worked well since. I bought and 12Volt cigarette lighter car adapeter and used it one month and the RUT360 stopped starting up. It just turn all lights on and then off, after that, nothing. Only the Power led is on constantly.
It worked with 230VAC wall adapter just fine, but now it started doing the same thing. Some times when I’ve moved the router it had blink it lights, but otherwise it stays off.
Is my RUT360 totally broken or can I do something for it?
Could you please specify which 12 V car socket adapter you used, this one? Also, can the router still be powered on using the original 4-pin 18 W power supply?
If not, please check whether there are any visible signs of damage on the PCB components after carefully unscrewing and removing the back panel.
Just to clarify, do any LEDs light up when you connect an Ethernet cable to a LAN port? If the router still responds to pings from a connected computer, it may be worth attempting a firmware flash via the bootloader or factory reset. However, if the device remains completely unresponsive, it is most likely a hardware fault.
Sorry for the slow response, but yes, that one is the car socket adapter what I used. And the 4-pin 18W power supply didn’t work either. It does not have visual damage on the PCB. And only LEDs that light up when I connect ethernet cable are in the PC and switch, but no clear signs from data going through.
However, I just started prepairing the modem for the ping(screwing antennas back, connecting ethernet and power etc.) and it suddenly started…. and the ping says this: Ping statistics for 192.168.1.1: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-secons: Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms`
I think it has some hardware issues, but long time without power it cures. And btw I write this using the internet provided by the RUT360. It didn’t first give internet, but I logged in and rebooted it and after that it started working. Now I only scare is it gonna do it again.
