RUT241 stops receiving if MMS sent my accident

I have came across this twice now and it is a little concerning. Several months back, I accidentally send an MMS to the modem instead of the person I was supposed to be sending it to. This had the effect of stopping the modem receiving any further SMS messages as the queue with mobile provider could not be processed as this message would not ack. The only way to get the modem to respond was to get my colleague who was onsite to remove the sim, put it in his phone so the message could be processed and then return back to the modem. This happened again today, this time a worker accidentally sent the modem a voice MMS and once again lockup any SMS receiving.

I think this is a little concerning, the modem should be able to at least ack an MMS but not do anything with it, otherwise a bad actor could send an SMS every 24 hrs ( assuming the mobile provider clears the undelivered message in that time) and you would never get a response from the modem.

I’ve tried testing this on my own device, I’ve sent multiple GIFs, .JPG image files, and my device didn’t even acknowledge the receipt of these MMS messages; therefore, I was unable to reproduce this issue.

I’d like to see your exact firmware version, modem version & logs of your troubleshoot file of when the issue is present within the device so I could review what’s really going on. For that, I’ve sent you a form to fill out. In the Ticket ID field, simply enter the number 16543. After you’ve done so, I’ll reach out to you through your provided e-mail shortly.

Today I was sending and receiving SMS’s from the modem without issue.

To verify this issue, I sent an MMS from my phone to the modem. after which it stopped receiving any further SMS messages.

I removed SIM from the modem, and put in my phone (the MMS came through with the other waiting SMS’s).

Put sim back into modem and SMS were receiving again.

This problem has existed on firmware 7.13 not sure prior
