RUT241 RMS VPN not reaching web-server

Hello,

I have RUT241 registerd to RMS,using openVPN.

the masquerading is enabled.

I can ping all the devices connected to the LAN port, but can’t reach the web-server.

I’ve tried to be physically connected to the devices at sites and all devices are ok, but through RMS it’s not working.

Thanks in advance.

Greetings,

Could you please clarify a few things:

  1. Do I understand correctly that when you connect to the VPN, you can ping the LAN devices, but can’t reach their web interface?
  2. Are you using the RMS VPN Hub, or did you manually configure an OpenVPN Client/Server instance on the RUT241?
  3. Does the network that your client is connected to have a different subnet from the RUT241 network?

Could you please navigate to Network → Firewall → Zones, click edit on the OpenVPN zone and enable MSS clamping, test if that solves the issue.

Best Regards,
Justinas

Hello,

Tried that and didn’t help,

Im inside the router SSH,
making http request via curl, it works for the first time and not for the second time for a while. then it works again for one time
tcpdump show shows that on the new http request no new packets are sent from the router to the device

Greetings,

Could you please clarify the following points?

  1. Do I understand correctly that when you connect to the VPN, you are able to ping the LAN devices but cannot access their web interfaces?
  2. Are you using the RMS VPN Hub, or have you manually configured an OpenVPN client/server instance on the RUT241?
  3. Is the network your client is connected to on a different subnet than the RUT241 network?

In your last response, you mentioned that a curl request from the router works the first time but fails afterward. Based on my understanding, accessing the device via HTTP does not work reliably even when using a physical connection, not only over the VPN. Is that correct?
