RUT241 no configuration mode change after update?

Hello,

I updated my RUT241 to 7.13.1 and now I miss the possibility to change the config mode from basic to advanced.

.

Any ideas where I have to look into?

Thank you Marcelo,

ok, but now I face the problem that the guidline from my VPN provider doesn’t match anymore. I need username and password in the Open VPN Client configuration:

Extraction of the guidline to apply a static IP using open VPN:
4. role: Client
5. click Add
6. Enable: on
7. External service : no
8. Enable OpenVPN config from file: yes -
9. Browse config file…
10. Uplodad Open VPN files : on
11. Authentication: Password
12. Username:
13. Password:
14. Cedrtification files from device: off
15. Certification authority: no file selected

My problem now: Where to tick in the content of point 12 and 13? I checked all possibilities in the menu but impossible to find out by try and error.

Thanks in advance.

Please… Wait… Let me check, here…

Updating…

When choose " external services "
You will have the option to add user/password.

So…
I first upload my ovpn file, using upload config file.
Save and apply.
Open second time, change to external service, change to nordvpn, custom address… I look at the address at the ovpn file (it is a text file) address after remote word
type my username and password.
Save and apply, again.

Works.

You’ll need to got to SERVICES > VPN > OpenVPN > [your vpn name] and expand the section titled SECURITY.

By default the sections are masked and you have to click on the V arrow to expand.

All is revealed in the RUT241 manual should you feel the need to read it.

Thank you Marcelo, but I do not have NordVPN. regardless this fact I typed all my data in, but without success.

Thank you Mike. In this path, I need after the security configuration a certificate authority file, which I don’t have as it was never needed before.

I think I have to wait until my provider issues a new guideline for this update. And I have to ask my customers for excuse for the delay.

Hi Urmal, probably best to see if your VPN provider can provide the manual settings or even better, an .ovpn file that you can upload the settings.

The CA cert can be optional, so one thing you could try is …

a) set authentication to Password
image

b) Enter your credentials …

c) leave the Certificate Authority field empty …

I think though, you’ll have a smoother journey if your VPN provider can give you the settings or a file to upload.

I don’t have nordvpn, too.

But works using it.

OK. One thing looks strange to me. I made screenshots from my previous working installation, and there it looks in the following way:

Its showing my static ip adress. When I compare this with I have now, I miss this information. Is there an input field I oversaw? The entry local IP adress is empty. Or is this simpy a result from the not working connection

Have a look at your logs … is there no documentation or another person in your organisation that could help?

No, unfortunately there is no one else as it was my idea to make our condition monitoring system available via the web and it was me who decided for Teltonika. Anyway, thanks to all of you for your help, I will discuss with my provider or downgrade to the previous firmware.

Have a nice remaining weekend.

Best wishes … M
