RUT241 - Modbus TCP Client

Hi guys,

I’m trying to use a RUT241 as a Modbus TCP Client, requesting data from a E1210 ioLogik (Moxa) which is a Modbus Server, but i am unable to establish a conenction between them (they are configured with different IPs, under the same subnet, connected using lan ports).

Could you please tell me if this setup is possible and if yes, what step is missing ?

Yes, this setup is indeed possible and should be pretty simple to achieve.

To help pinpoint what might be missing, could you kindly provide screenshots of your Modbus TCP client configuration window from the RUT241?

Also, please confirm the following:

  • Is the default gateway on the Moxa E1210 set correctly to the RUT241’s LAN IP address?
  • Are you able to ping Moxa’s IP address from the RUT241?
  • Have you selected the correct function code, data type, and register addresses according to Moxa’s datasheet and configuration?
