RUT241 lost LTE communication and RMS connection and sms reboot is not recognized as well

Hi, I’m running a Teltonika Router RUT241 with as SIM Card from the German Provider 1&1! In conjunction with this sim card we are facing the problem, that almost every week the router is loosing it’s internet connection via a G4 Network and due to this all communication between our vehicle charging point is terminated! In most cases even a sms reboot or status command is not recocnized at as well!
In this case I have to drive to the location of the router about 25km away and I have to execute a reboot through a direct login via the active wifi connection. After this the router starts working again!
Before initiating the reboot of the router I checked the Mobile LAN status:
The status page reported ‘connected’ and indicated a G4 network connection!
But a normal internet connection to an arbitrary website was not possible!
Before rebooting I downloaded the troubleshoot-file which I also store in the nvram of the router as well!
Attached I’ll send you the troubleshoot-file as an attachment.

Unfortunately I can’t upload the troubleshoot-file due to it is not to upload this *.tar File! Question: How can I sent you this file? Pleas let me know

Currently I’m running 10 RUT241 devices and we are facing similar problems on the other devices as well!

Please give an advice how to continue in this case. Btw. 2 weeks I had a longer telefone call with a colleague from you support and as far as I understand him, he recommended to use this channel for technical support issues of this case!

Hope to hear from you soon
Christian

Hello,

Does this same issue occur with a different provider SIM card? If you were to put the 1&1 SIM card into a phone, does it function properly? What signal strengths are you getting on-site?

When you say “similar”, do you mean that the issues are the same as the first device you mention, or something else? If the same, is the SIM provider the same for all of these devices? It could very well be related to your operator.

I would suggest:

  • Following the first steps I’ve provided, which are testing different provider SIM cards, testing the SIM cards in a phone, and double-checking your signal strengths. If the signal is poor, then disconnections are simply bound to happen for those to improve, either look into changing the positioning of the devices, or ever so slightly changing the location, maybe closer to a window or such, depending on your environment.
