RUT241 ipsec/l2tp

Hi, I have updated the router to the latest firmware 7.09, and setup a vpn with ipsec and l2tp. But it says disconnected on both ipsec clients and l2tp clients.

But if i use the same settings under windows to setup a vpn client, I get connected to the vpn server at once.

Is it a place in the router where I shall start the ipsec and l2tp, or what could be wrong??

Hello,

Could you please connect to the router’s CLI and take a screenshot of the output from the following command:

netstat -tuln

This will display all open ports on the router. Specifically, please verify that ports 500, 4500, and 1701 are open. Once you have this information, kindly send the screenshot.

To assist in identifying the issue, it would also be helpful to view the logs. Please generate the troubleshoot file and send it via HubSpot. You will receive an email containing a form where you will need to enter the ticket ID from the URL:

To obtain the troubleshoot file, navigate to System > Maintenance > Troubleshoot in your router’s web interface, and click “Download” next to “Troubleshoot file”.

Additionally, providing detailed information about the authentication method used on the VPN server side and a screenshot of your configuration would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to blur any sensitive information.

I look forward to your response.

Kind regards,
Lukas

Hi, have download the log files, but where can I find the Hubspot??

Hello,

Have you received the email? Please also check your spam folder if it’s not in your main inbox. I will resend the instructions if you haven’t received anything.

Kind regards,

Hello again,

Could you kindly provide the server settings without including any sensitive details such as IP addresses, VPN authentication keys, or passwords? I would need the authentication methods, proposal settings, and any other non-sensitive configuration information you can share.

Kind regards,
Lukas
