Hi,
I am trying to configure a HE IPv6 Tunnel. Do I need to install the “6in4” module or is there an alternative way to get this tunnel working? I am aware of the configuration provided by HE on their website. They provide a sample configuration and requires to install “6in4”.
I am on the latest Firmware (RUT2M_R_00.07.07.3) and my setup is using a 4G WAN with a dynamic Public IPv4 address (Not using CGNAT). Would really like to get IPv6 using my HE Tunnel?
I’m not familiar with the requirements for setting up an HE IPv6 Tunnel. Could you provide the necessary details or any useful information about the configuration process?
Ignore the “Relayd” configuration as I think it is not required.
The part I am missing is how to obtain the 6in4 module and importantly is it compatible with the current firmware I am using on the RUT241?
Hello,
How do I get the 6in4 package including dependancies as this seems to be required to get the Hurricane Electric IPv6 Tunnel to work.
Can Teltonika confirm if the 6in4 package is compatible with the current firmware release?
Any takers on this issue?
Thank you
Could you please provide a link to the 6in4 package mentioned on the HE website? It’s currently difficult to understand what this package is and which example you are referring to. Also, have you tried following the tutorial mentioned at UCI-based RelayD configuration with IPv4+IPv6 functionality - Teltonika Networks Wiki? This is our official guide on how to configure it.
The official guide does not help me as the I keep saying that I need to install the 6in4 package (opkg install 6in4). I have configured HE tunnels on other routers that run openwrt (not Rutos) and they work. I bought the Rut241 thinking that I could easily configure a HE Tunnel as I understood they operate very similar to openwrt.
I apologize, but 6in4 packages cannot be installed on RUTOS because it differs from OpenWRT. While it is based on OpenWRT, there are significant differences. For instance, the 6in4 package requires an earlier kernel version, and the luci package is not supported; RUTOS uses vuci instead. Therefore, tutorials meant for OpenWRT will not apply to our products in this case.
