On a RUT 241 eSIM with 07.11 firmware I downloaded a freshly created consumer Telefonica O2 data card eSIM, and only after the download step, O2 allowed me to activate the eSIM.
I face the problem that the router displays on the
page Network ->Mobile eSIM profiles
eSIM profile State: Inactive
and on the page Status->Network->Mobile:
Operator: N/A
Operator state Limited service
Data connection state: Disconnected
Connection state: Waiting for user action
What user action ?
In my O2 portal it states that the eSIM is in active state.
Any Ideas how I might trigger the router to refresh the eSIM status ?
The router has working internet access as Wifi client, mobile antennas are connected.
Please ensure that the antennas are connected properly at a 90-degree angle.
Check the signal reception level. If the signal is weak, the module may not be able to connect to the network properly. Recommendations on signal levels can be found here: Mobile Signal Strength Recommendations. Current signal levels can be checked on the Status → Network → Mobile page.
Verify that the IMEI is not blocked. Some cellular network providers may block connections if the module’s IMEI is not whitelisted.
Ensure that the correct APN is configured for connectivity. The APN (Access Point Name) specifies where the module should connect and what settings should be applied. Incorrect APN settings are a common issue in the connectivity process. You can set the APN in WebUI under Network → WAN → <mobile_interface> → Edit.
Check the PDP type on the mobile interface. There are three PDP types available: IPv4, IPv4/IPv6, and IPv6. Cellular providers may assign IPv4, IPv6, or both types of IP addresses to the module. You can check which PDP type is used in Network → WAN → <mobile_interface> → Edit.
Please let me know how it goes or if you need further assistance.
update: since 2 eSims from O2 DE did not work, I did a one-time purchase of an eSim from a networkless service provider (500MB for 2€) and it did work flawlessly. On O2 !
Long story short, I purchased an additional SIM from O2 linked to my account.
I would have preferred to use an eSim for O2 and let the slot free, but…
Yes, I followed exactly the steps. I think that the issue lays on the O2 activation process on their website. With the same procedure the 3rd eSIM (from the broker) worked in seconds.
