I need to enable an eSIM on my RUT241 eSIM router recently purchased. The instructions about the need for internet access are not clear. I have an iPhone that has with hotspot enabled and would like to use this. What are the steps to enable this as a WAN on the router please? There is talk of enabling interfaces but cannot see this on my menu choices.
Thank you I think I have got most of that. However the video does not refer to the RUT241 eSIM and there is no menu item network and then interfaces. This is the bit that confuses me. How do I make the hotspot connection to my iphone as the WAN?
Google it…
iPhone hotspot mode, also known as Personal Hotspot, allows users to share their iPhone’s cellular data connection with other devices. This mode is useful when there is no Wi-Fi network available.
How to set up Personal Hotspot
Go to Settings
Select Personal Hotspot
Turn on Allow Others to Join
Optionally, change the Wi-Fi password
How to connect a device to Personal Hotspot
On the device you want to connect, turn on Personal Hotspot
Open the Wi-Fi menu
Select the iPhone’s name
Enter the password
When to use Personal Hotspot
Personal Hotspot is best for emergency or incidental use because the cellular data connection speed may be slower than public Wi-Fi. It may also drain the iPhone’s battery quickly.
Apologies I am not making myself clear. The iPhone setup is no issue. I have also followed the instruction re setting up the WiFi ssid as per the video. In the video about 2/3rds the way long, there is reference to network->interface and putting the new ssid as per the enclosed screenshot (first image). I do not have this menu option on my menu as per the enclosed comparison screenshot (second image). I have the latest firmware on my router.
i am trying to download esim profile but get enclosed error. i am assuming this is because there is no internet to download. i have tried manual and qr code
