RUT240 SNMP stop working with FW 00.07.06.10

Hello,
After updating to the last firmware 00.07.06.10 and updating the SNMP package as well, some SNMP request are working fine, ie :

snmpget -v2c -c <...> 192.168.4.60 ".1.3.6.1.4.1.48690.1.3.0"
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.48690.1.3.0 = STRING: "RUT24006XXXX"

But some other don’t work , ie :

snmpget -v2c -c <...> 192.168.4.60 ".1.3.6.1.4.1.48690.2.2.1.28.1"
Timeout: No Response from 192.168.4.60.

after none of the requests are working anymore until I restart the SNMPservice on the RUT240. (/etc/init.d/snmpd restart=)
There is any logs about the SNMP crashing in the logs (logread).

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the SNMP package but the issue is still there.
I’ve this issue on 30 RUT240 after updating them.

Is there something wrong with the last firmware/SNMP package ? How can I fix that ?

Regards,

Hello,

When you restart the SNMP service, do some OIDs remain unreachable or are you able to reach them? Have these general issues only occurred on 07.06.10, or were they present in previous firmware versions for some devices? What SNMP settings are you using? Could you provide a screenshot for investigation?

I tried to recreate these issues myself but with no success. Could your devices be custom orders? Or have a specific configuration, what could interfere?

Best regards,

Hi,

When I restart the SNMP service, some OIDs is working fine until I request some OID and then the SNMP isn’t working anymore.
Before upgrading the routers were in 00.07.05.4 and everything working fine.
Here is the SNMP settings :

Yes, the routers had some settings for our needs, how can I send you the settings ?

Hello,

I noticed that you’ve set up your own SNMP community. Are you consistently using this in your commands? Also, have you attempted to access the same OIDs using the default SNMP community using same OIDs?

Furthermore, you’re using the 192.168.100.0/24 community. Is the device you’re trying to reach your router within that range?

If none of the above suggestions yield any results, there is a new firmware version available for RUT240: RUT240 Firmware Downloads.

Best regards,

Hello Marijus,
Thanks for your feedback.

I have the same behaviours if I use the default SNMP community, some OIDs (ie .1.3.6.1.4.1.48690.1.3.0) works but some others (ie .1.3.6.1.4.1.48690.2.2.1.28.1) doesn’t work and crash the snmpd process.
Yes of course the device which is reaching the router is withing the range of 192.168.100.0/24.

Sadly, even the new firmware (RUT2_R_00.07.06.11) isn’t fixing this issue.

I have 300+ RUT240 and all of them are working fine with the old firmware (RUT2_R_00.07.05.4), only those with the new firmware have this issue.
