Dear all,
Since a couple of days, my RUT240 device cannot connect to mobile data.
Here are the information on my device:
Bootloader version: 3.2.2
Hardware revision: 0010
Batch number: 0080
Firmware version: RUT2_R_00.07.06.8
Kernel version: 5.4.259
Modem-Model: EC25-EC
Modem-FW version: EC25ECGAR06A04M1G_01.004.01.004
The issue appeared suddenly, in the night.
I spent some time with the mobile company since I suspected they changed something in their network.
But the sim is working perfectly if inserted in a different modem.
Thus, the RUT240 is the culprit…
I tried to get some more info and I got this:
root@Teltonika-RUT240:/log# gsmctl -j --debug
GSMCTL modem[0]: Debug mode enabled
GSMCTL Modem id: 0
GSMCTL modem[0]: Checking modem info for connection state
GSMCTL modem[0]: Getting connection state from gsm modem
Disconnected
root@Teltonika-RUT240:/log# gsmctl -g --debug
GSMCTL modem[0]: Debug mode enabled
GSMCTL Modem id: 0
GSMCTL modem[0]: Calling LGSM UBUS GET NET REQ STAT to get net state
GSMCTL modem[0] helper: Calling gsm ubus method
GSMCTL modem[0] helper: Checking called ubus method response label
GSMCTL modem[0] helper: ubus method called successfully
Registered, home
Furthermore, the sim is working, and I can receive and send SMS.
But data obviously not.
Could you please provide any support?
Thank you in advance.
I can see that you are using RUT2_R_00.07.06.8 firmware. Have you experienced mobile data connection issues after installing the latest firmware? Or you installed it trying to fix encountered issue?
Dear Marijus,
thank you for the quick reply.
I installed it yesterday to try to fix the issue.
The firmware installed when the issue appeared was 07.04.5.
Thank you
Dear Teltonika team…
is there a way to check whether it is an hardware or software problem?
Just to understand whether it is worth to continue the investigation or just throw the device in the garbage and go further?
Thank you
In the end, there was a module issue; something was broken inside its filesystem, needed to restore the default module settings to make it work. Issue solved, many thanks to the support team at Teltonika. Great result!
