RUT240 Internal modem is unreachable

Hi. Have some problems with 4G internal modem. In some moment in the past 4G connection became unavailable. My guess is after some firmware update. Now I tries to fix router. I have update firmware to latest available (RUT2_R_00.07.06.13_WEBUI). Also I tries to use legacy one (RUT2XX_R_00.01.14.7_WEBUI.bin) with no luck. Also I tries to install firmware throw bootloader. In the system log I see repeating process connect-disconnect modem:

Any ideas what I can do with that?

Hi YaroslavVyshnevsky,

Welcome to Teltonika Networks Community!

This case might be in need of RMA procedure. For warranty repairs, I would advise you contacting us via HelpDesk. If you do not have access to it, then contact your Sales Manager via which you have bought the device or if you have bought through a vendor - Contact your vendor for further assistance with the RMA procedure. Here you can find more information about RMA procedure: RMA - Teltonika Networks Wiki

Regards,

Thank you for response. It is not a warranty case - router has about 6 years old.
In logs firmware tells me that modem in raw-IP mode. As I understand it must be in AT-mode?

Hi,

By default, Teltonika devices should be in AT-mode. However, in your case, modem is unreachable. Therefore, we can’t revert it back to AT-mode.

Regards,

Is some where available firmware for the modem? I am firmware engineer and has some stuff and tools, so I can try to solder some UART to the modem directly (I do not research yet how it works with Quectel).

Can you run this command lsusb in CLI and let me know the output? This is to check if modem might still be recoverable.

root@Teltonika-RUT240:~# lsusb
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 18d1:d00d
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002

I guess something missing, because accidentally I log in to my new RUT955 and it show 4 usb devices

It seems like the modem is not powered up and unreachable. I’m really sorry, but it looks like there’s nothing we can do about this at the moment. If there’s anything else I can help with, just let me know!

Ok. Thank you. Maybe later I will do some experiments with board and collect more information. Also I need to research about this Quectel modems.
