Hi All
I’ve got a RUT240 and am trying to set it up in bridge mode to use with a Unifi Cloud Gateway Ultra.
The intent is to use the cellular connection of the RUT240 as a failover on WAN2 port of my Unifi router. So if my FTTP provider on WAN1 of my Unifi router fails, then the cellular connection takes over.
I’ve set the RUT240 up in bridge mode, added the MAC address of the WAN2 port of the Unifi router to the RUT240 bridge mode settings page (Network-> WAN ->RUT Modem).
The RUT240 presents an IP address back to the Unifi router and even a latency metric, however if you force a failover to the cellular connection there’s no connectivity.
I’ve been in touch with a really helpful chap on support from Unifi and he noticed that the RUT240 is somehow presenting a private IP address to the Unifi router and his conclusion is that the RUT240 may be doing some routing even though it’s set in bridge mode.
I’ve been able to connect to the internet from a PC connected directly to the RUT240 set in bridge mode, with the MAC address set to the PC’s ethernet port so it does somehow work, just not when it’s connected to the Unifi router.
The Unifi guy also suggested setting the MAC address of the RUT240 in the Unifi router as a MAC address clone, but this didn’t help.
Can anyone help?
Thanks!
