I am currently trying to restore a RUT240. Originally the WebUI wasn’t loading after login and when trying to access the device the hostname was UNKOWN.
Fast forward a few firmware updates and factory resets, I have gotten stuck at a point where I believe the default profile for the factory reset is missing the following information from the /etc/config/system (/overlay/upper/etc/config/system) file:
The hostname also is incorrect as “option hostname ‘Teltonika-RUTm.com’”
Looking into this further it appears the factory reset/firstboot just removes the /overlay directory and on next boot it reads and mounts the mtd file to /overlay.
I couldn’t find any way of updating this on my end, is this something you can help with so I can restore my device?
Thank you for reaching out. To assist you further, could you share the output of the following command?
hexdump -C /dev/mtd1
Additionally, if you haven’t already, for testing purposes, please try uploading the firmware via the Bootloader menu. Detailed instructions for accessing and using the Bootloader menu can be found here.
However, I’m not sure if that’s going to give the expected output as /dev/mtd1 is not mounted and I believe the /overlay directory is mounted at /dev/mtdblock5, the output for that command was too long to upload as text or as a file, I can supply a google drive link or other if nessessary?
As for the firmware upgrade, I was able to successfully upload the firmware via the bootloader, however I am still having the same issues. I was also unable to upload the new UI firmware and was only able to stay on legacy “RUT2XX_R_00.01.14.7_WEBUI.bin”
Thank you for the provided output. To assist you further with this issue, a remote session will be required. I’ve sent you a form to complete; please use the ticket ID “11723” when filling it out. Once you have submitted the form, we will contact you privately gathering required information before the remote session.
