RUT240 Events Log could not be accessed because the database is being optimized

My RUT240 shows the following error all the time

I updated to the newest Firmware RUT2_R_00.07.06.16. No matter how long I wait, the error doesn’t disappear and the events log is always empty.
Any advice on how to fix this?
Thanks!

Hello,

Please try deleting the logs by following these steps:

  1. SSH into your router.
  2. Navigate to the log folder using the command: cd /log/.
  3. Run the command: rm log.db.
  4. Restart the event log service with the command: /etc/init.d/eventslog restart.

This should resolve the issue and allow your events log to display correctly again.

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Hello, thanks for the fast reply.
I can’t delete log.db:

root@Teltonika-RUT240:/log# rm log.db
rm: can't remove 'log.db': No space left on device

Could you please try resetting the device to factory defaults to see if you are able to delete the log file afterward?
Instructions on how to perform a factory reset on the RUT240 can be found here: RUT240 Device Recovery Options - Factory Reset.

Best regards,

The same problem after factory reset:

rm: can't remove 'log.db': No space left on device

And there is even space left on the /log mount:

root@RUT240:/log# df -h

Hello,

If performing a factory reset did not resolve the issue, please try accessing the bootloader menu and uploading the device firmware through it. You can find detailed instructions here: RUT240 Device Recovery Options - Bootloader Menu.

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Hello
I had some troubles accessing the bootloader menu. The 4 seconds to hold the reset button after power on are wrong. It’s 5 - 8 seconds. This is more accurate: RUT2xx Firmware via The Bootloader Menu - Teltonika Networks Wiki

Anyway, the problem is still the same. Eventlog not working. Same error when I try to delete log.db

Hello,

The bootloader should be helpful in this situation. I recommend attempting to access the bootloader menu again, but this time try uploading an older RutOS version, such as 07.04. You can download the firmware from this link: RUT240 Firmware Downloads.

If this does not resolve the issue, the problem is likely with the device itself. In that case, I recommend contacting your reseller to initiate an RMA process for device repair.

Best regards,

Hello
It didn’t work with the older RutOS. So I replaced the device.
Thanks for your help!
