Hi there,
after recent (1-2 month ago) FW upgrade (latest available on serwer RUT2_R_00.07.06.12) my RUT240 is dropping connection with my PV Inverter WiFi dongle. It does it every time. The only thing to establish communication again is to reset the RUT240 or the dongle (what I do). The inverter is working correctly for another 3h and then where is no connection, hence no data about solar production, statistics and so ever…
Before FW upgrade there was no such issue. Checked with two RUT240 with the same FW and both of them are dropping WiFi dongle. Also checked the dongle with my smartphone as Internet host. It worked like a charm all day long. So it all points to RUT240 and the FW.
PS. Ive also noticed WiFi range decreased causing most distant receivers to have problems with signal reception.
LOL… FW flashed at 11PM. Wi-Fi set as its was… and voila… Not that just now it does not drop the connection, but the overall Wi-Fi performance is better with other devices.
I wonder if the FW was the case or the Wi-Fi settings were messed up after last upgrade. If the second one then its big “-” for me. For now its just a Wi-Fi but also could be VPN, DDNS, MQQT and do, and so …
Good to hear all is good again.
I can only recommend to NOT “Keep Settings” from time to time when upgrading, as so many things can change under the hood, which then lead to inconsistent configurations - like in probably your case.
