If the WLAN fails briefly (e.g. if the Starlink antenna has undergone a firmware upgrade), the router does not automatically connect to the WLAN. It will only reconnect to the WLAN after the router has been restarted. The problem is that the time window in which the Startlink antenna can connect to the router only lasts approx. 5 minutes. If this window is missed, the Starlink antenna must also be restarted.
Why does the RUT240 not automatically reconnect to the Starlink antenna? Is there a setting for this? “Failover” on WAN is activated.
Hello,
To better understand your setup, could you please clarify one point: is the Starlink connection being used as a WWAN (wireless WAN / internet source) on the RUT240?
If that is the case, could you try selecting all of the “Flush connections” options (shown in the screenshot below) on the Starlink failover interface to see whether it makes any change?
Let me know if this change brings any improvement or if you need further assistance with the setup.
Best regards,
Hello
The Starlink antenna is connected to the RUT240 via a PoE adapter using a cable with an RJ45 plug. I am not aware that the Starlink antenna also supports WWAN?
Should we still check your proposed solution?
Cheers, Paul
Thank you for providing additional details.
Just to confirm, is the Starlink antenna connected to the RUT240’s WAN port? As from your description, it seems like you’re using starlink as a wired WAN source.
If that is the case, then try enabling the “Flush connections” option on the failover’s wan (wired) interface.
Hello
Yes, the Starlink antenna is connected to the WAN input of the RUT240. We will test this at the end of April, as the Starlink antenna is installed on a sailing ship and we have just returned home.
Many thanks for your help!
With kind regards, Paul
Hello
We have now been able to test it with “Flush connections” switched on. Unfortunately, the automatic reconnection with the Startlink antenna is still not working. Do you have any ideas what else we could do?
With kind regards, Paul
