Hello, I have Teltonika RUT240 router and an DC/AC solar inverter which has its own WiFi access point. I have connected RUT240 to inverter’s WiFi as a client but don’t know how to proceed (see the image below).
I want to connect to inverter’s web interface which can be done by accessing IP address 192.168.12.3, but when I add an remote access device in the Remote management system, nothing happens (“Device is unreachable or service is offline.”)
How do I make RUT240 client get an IP address from inverter’s DHCP server, do I have to setup some LAN interface and associate it to SMA SSID? I don’t have much networking background (electrical engineer), so excuse me if I am asking wrong questions.
It seems you’re attempting to access your device using the RMS Connect service. To do this, you’ll need to connect your solar inverter to the RUT240 device, which will place it within the LAN network. Then you’ll be able to connect to it on your specified port.
Yes, that is obvious, but for some reason inverter disconnected from the RUT240 WLAN so my idea was to connect to inverter through its own access point and then from its web interface connect it to RUT240 WLAN again without having to go physically to the location. Is that possible?
Only devices on the RUT240 LAN network can be controlled or accessed via RMS Connect. You won’t be able to force your solar inverter to connect to the RUT240 using the RUT240 itself.
