RUT240 and RMS VPN Connection

Hi,
I try to get working a RMS VPN connection to my RUT240 and a device behind!
I´m make all the settings which I could see in the Youtub video “Connect a plc” but when I try to make a connection via OpenVPN to my RUT240 I get error messages:

Wed Sep 13 21:27:59 2023 Compression or compression stub framing is not allowed since data-channel offloading is enabled.
Wed Sep 13 21:27:59 2023 OPTIONS ERROR: server pushed compression settings that are not allowed and will result in a non-working connection. See also allow-compression in the manual.
Wed Sep 13 21:27:59 2023 ERROR: Failed to apply push options
Wed Sep 13 21:27:59 2023 Failed to open tun/tap interface

and

Wed Sep 13 21:30:02 2023 TLS Error: TLS key negotiation failed to occur within 60 seconds (check your network connectivity)
Wed Sep 13 21:30:02 2023 TLS Error: TLS handshake failed

what means this error or how can I resolve this issue?

Try adding the following to the OpenVPN config file:

--allow-compression yes

I am using the OpenVPN client V2.6.6 (Community Version)! Windows 10 and 11!

I´m sorry but in which config file should I adding this command? In my .ovpn file? And at which postion this command has to be, if this is important?

Yes, please. Try adding the allow compression option to the .ovpn configuration file on your client (pc). Let me know about the results.

thanks for your answer and your help!
This command solve the problem and I can create a connection to my VPN-Hub! But I didn´t get a connection to my plc behind my RUT240!

The RUT240 has the LAN IP: 192.168.1.1 DHCP is enabled! RMS is connected. My Notebook get a IP from the RUT240 (192.168.1.216)
Are there addtionall steps at the RUT240 neseccary to a connection the the device behind?

Hello,

Please check IP configurations on your PLC and ensure that the PLC has a default gateway configured and is pointing towards RUT240 (192.168.1.1).

I´m sorry but I try now a lot of different settings but I didn´t get a connection to my PLC working! The RUT240 is online every settings in the RMS portal are done! My PLC has the IP address, Gateway!
Please is it possible to get a example of the settings in the RUT240? Firewall, Network, Traffic every thing which is important to get a connection working!

In your RMS VPN Hub settings, navigate to ‘routes’ tab and ensure:

LAN forwarding is enabled:

Route to you LAN network is added. Add route → Manual:

  • IP Address: 192.168.1.0
  • Netmask: 255.255.255.0
  • Clients: Via RUT240
