I have a technical question. We have a RUT200 running.
It gets its internet connection via LTE and provides an access point. However, the Wi-Fi signal is very weak in some areas. We now want to install a DAP140 to extend the existing access point.
I’ve made a small drawing to illustrate the setup. Will this work?
I’m not entirely sure whether I should enable or disable DHCP on the DAP140. Please excuse the inconvenience, but the RUT200 serves a critical environment, and this expansion should be done without any experimentation.
After reviewing the topology you provided, I can see that the DAP140 is connected to the gateway router (RUT200) via a LAN cable. Since both devices operate within the same network, it is important to avoid IP address conflicts. To ensure stable operation, please disable the DHCP function on the DAP140, as it may attempt to assign an IP address to the RUT200, causing a conflict. The RUT200 already has DHCP enabled and will automatically assign IP addresses to all connected devices.
If you have any further questions or need assistance with the configuration, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
