RUT200 Blocking Internet Access to Laptop wiht ZSCALER VPN

I have an issue where my RUT200 will not allow internet access to a Laptop and iPhone running ZScaler VPN solution.

Internet access is fine to other VPN’s on other devices.

Zcaler IT say it is the router causing the issue.

How can I configure the RUT200 to allow internet access ?

Daniel

Hello,

Could you please try setting a lower MTU (e.g., 1420) on the RUT WAN interface to see if that changes anything?

Also, could you clarify which VPN protocol ZScaler is using? Some ports may need to be open on the router’s firewall to allow this VPN traffic to reach the internet.

Are there any VPN logs visible on the Zscaler client that might be helpful and could you share them here?

Best regards,

Hi ,

Not sure what you mean here - I looked for a setting for MTU and could not see anything?

Where do I find this as the WIKI did not help eitther ,

Daniel.,

Hello,

You can find the MTU setting (for the mobile WAN interface) under:
Network → WAN → mob1s1a1 → Edit Advanced Settings tab:

Set the MTU value (e.g., try 1420) and save the setting. Then accordingly test the internet connection through the VPN on your laptop and let us know how it goes.

Best regards,

Thanks - tried this but access is still blocked.

Hi

tried changing this setting but access using the zsvaler vpn is still blocked .

Daniel

Hello,

Thank you for the update. Could you please share the Zsvaler VPN settings? When using third-party VPN solutions on end devices connected to the router, certain configuration adjustments are often required to ensure internet access through the tunnel.

Additionally, for testing purposes, please try the following steps:

  1. Select a manual APN on the RUT device (navigate to Network → WAN → mob1s1a1 (Edit)) and check if this improves connectivity.
  2. Enable masquerading for the LAN firewall zone.

Could you also clarify which VPN protocol (IPsec, SSL, OpenVPN, etc.) is being used with Zsvaler?

Best regards,

Hi ,

In teied those settings and still no connection.

The VPN I am told uses IPSec.

Daniel

Greetings,

Thank you for your message.

Since you confirmed that Zscaler uses IPsec, here is a configuration example you can follow to set it up on your router:

You can treat RUT1 as your router and RUT2 as the Zscaler endpoint when going through the guide.

Please let me know how it goes, and if you have any further questions, feel free to reach out.

Kind regards,
V.
