RUT modem Email Users Password will not accept spaces

I’ve encountered a problem with an RUT361 System → Admin → Recipients → Email Users (tab).

I’ve added a email config for smtp.gmail.com and using an application password for the modem. The application password string contains a space. The RUT361 modem error states “All characters are allowed except `’ and space.”

This application password is in use at many other locations and is the default used for sending system alerts. The application password cannot be changed.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I am thinking an alternative SMTP account be created with an application password that contains no spaces ` (back tick) and ’ (single quotes).

Those spaces you’re referring to are not required, and the password can be entered without the use of them.
