Hello Sir, I have S7 1200 Siemens PLC. I am using Modbus Server in RUT 906. I have RS485 energy meters connected to RUT. I mapped Energy meters registors in RUT 906 Modbus Client and calling it in Data Source Modbus Server RUT 906. It takes upto 7 seconds to read 1 Energy meter Data to PLC from RUT 906 Modbus Server. I want to know how can I reduce this time by doing settings in RUT 906. Initially I was reading 124 registors then it was taking time upto 28 seconds. Then I reduced these to 36 registors and it is taking upto 7 seconds. I can not reduced this below 18. Please suggest the solution at the earliest.

The primary way to increase RS485 communication speed is by raising the baud rate (that is, adjusting all RS485 communication parameters such as data bits, flow control, etc., with the baud rate being the most critical factor).
According to available information, the Siemens S7-1200 PLC supports baud rates of up to 115200. Increasing the baud rate to this level could improve communication speed by approximately three times.
Please note that higher baud rates may require a shorter cable length, so you may need to reduce the distance between the RUT906 and the PLC if the current distance is too long.
Other than increasing the baud rate, there are no additional settings that would significantly improve communication speed.
