RUT 241 12V power and Weboost Compatibility

I have a RUT241098000 that I am using in an RV.

Question 1: I want to run directly off my 12v lithium battery supply (which produces between 13.5V and 12V). When attempting to power using the 12V battery, the unit doesn’t power on but when siwthcing back to the AC adapter the unit powers on. Do I need to have a 12V power supply which outputs 9VDC and 1 amp?

Question 2: I also have a Weboost singal booster. I want to plug the output SMA from the weboost into the Rut 241 to avoid having wifi communication between the two devices. Is it something I can do without damagin either unit?

Hello,

  1. It seems that your lithium battery may not be providing enough current to power the device. The RUT241 typically requires around 1A at 12V to operate. If your battery is unable to supply the required current, the device might not power on. Please ensure that the battery can provide a sufficient amount of current, especially when the device is under load.
  2. Regarding the Weboost signal booster, as it is a third-party device, we cannot guarantee its compatibility with the RUT241 since it has not been officially tested. Testing the compatibility of such devices with the RUT241 would be at your discretion.

Best regards,

Thanks for the response.

  1. I will double check the battery output. What type of connector is used for the power supply. It may be a wire size issue as I’ve cut the AC power cord and spliced in my 12V connection. The wire gauge is quite small so perhaps it’s a voltage drop issue. Is there a connector code/spec you can provide?
  2. I understand it’s at my discretion for testing the equipment and that there’s no guarantee it will work or not damage the device. I am wondering if anyone has experience with the weboost going directly to the Rut 241 rather than using wifi communication.

Hello,

Thank you for your response. In your case, the Power Cable with 4-Way Screw Terminal might be a suitable option.
