Hi,
I have purchased RTU240. Now I am testing SMS function.
When I set the SIM setting as 2G, I can send the SMS message. But when I changed the SIM setting to 3G or 4G, I can not send the SMS message.
Is this function limitted by product features or I need to do more configuration on the device?
Hope to get everyone support

Hi Mr. Mahmoud
Thank you so much for your help.
I’ve tried this way but device still can not send the message with 3G or 4G network.
Please show me if there are any other settings I should try.
Now, SMS send messages function is working on setting 2G network only.
But Read messages function is working on all setting 2G, 3G or 4G network

Hi Mr. Mahmoud,
Thank you very much for your support.
I read on device manual. About SMS sending function, it works only on GSM (2G) only.
Does it mean that the device can not send SMS on band 3G or 4G?
I’ve tried to set mobile network as 2G, the band is GSM (device can send SMS)
And when I set mobile network is 4G, the band is LTE B3 (device can not send SMS)
Did you try sending SMS function on 4G band before?
If you’ve already tried, please share with me the setting manual.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Best regards.
Hello,
I’ve conducted a test on my end, and I can receive SMS messages.
Could you try putting the SIM card into your phone and checking if it sends an SMS message?
What APN is used when the SIM card is inserted into your phone?
Thanks,
Mahmoud
Hi Mr. Mahmoud,
I also tried insertting this SIM card to my phone a few days ago, the mobile phone could send SMS messages.
Yesterday, I’ve tried with other SIMs, and some of them could send SMS messages with 4G mobile network.
I found the problem. Now I’m checking SIM configuration with telecommunications service provider.
Thank you very much for your support.
Best regards.
