Router not reconnecting to RMS

Hello.

I have a RUT956 and I have a problem where if the router ever gets rebooted that It doesn’t reconnect to RMS it just stays stuck in the “reconnecting” status. According to the documentation when enabled it is supposed to try and reconnect every 2-5 minutes but that never happens. I have set the RMS setting to have both Monitoring and Auto Extend to On. The settings are also correct on the router itself. I have also tried multiple firmware version but nothing helps. The only time I can reconnect it is if I manually go into the router and press reconnect in the RMS page, but the issue just happens again if the router is rebooted.

Hello,

Have you tried unregistering and then re-registering your router back to RMS? If you haven’t already, please try this and let me know if the issue persists.

Best regards,

Hello,

Yes I have tried to re-register the devices. One that has recently been giving the issue seems to be okay, but those that have had the issue for longer don’t seem to be fixed. I have tried waiting over night to see if they might reconnect but they didn’t. I have also asked someone to reboot them but that also didn’t help.

I have sent you a form to fill out. Once completed, I will contact you privately regarding this issue. Please use the ticket ID “10485” when filling out the form.

Best regards,

Thank you. I have filled out the form.

Hello, I have exactly the same issue with a RUTX09. The router are in the latest firmaware version : RUTX_R_00.07.10.2

Hello @elsurimi ,

The latest firmware version for the RUTX09 device is 7.11.1. Please upgrade your device and let me know if you still experience the same issue.

You can download the firmware image from this link: RUTX09 Firmware Downloads.

Best regards,

Hello,

Thank you for your response. I will update the firmware and continue to monitor it. I have however found a workaround if you are using mobile connection wherein you can just send a SMS to enable rms.

Hello, thanks @ChrishLuies for your tips, it helped me out a lot.

I’ve updated my firmware too and it doesn’t change anything.

I have a startup script in my router. Doesn’t the issue come from there?
