RMS: "Guacamole Client Stopped" when trying to VNC to Mac mini behind RUT241

I’m trying to remotely access a Mac mini connected to a RUT241 router via RMS. Here’s my setup:

  • Router: RUT241 with a LycaMobile SIM card

  • Mac mini IP: 192.168.1.100

  • Laptop: On a different network (home office), connecting via RMS

  • RMS: Configured to connect to the router and remote devices

  • SSH: Works fine via RMS

  • Screen Sharing (VNC 5900): Enabled on the Mac mini

  • Netstat output:

    tcp4 0 0 *.5900 *.* LISTEN
    tcp6 0 0 *.5900 *.* LISTEN

  • When I try to connect via RMS using VNC/Screen Sharing, I get the error: Guacamole Client Stopped

Does RMS support VNC/Screen Sharing for Mac mini devices behind a RUT241?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out.

Could you please provide a screenshot of your RMS Remote VNC connection configuration? Also, have you tried specifying a username and password when selecting Network Level Authentication in the remote connect VNC settings?

Additionally, please share a screenshot of the error message you receive when the Guacamole client stops.

As I understand, Guacamole in RMS functions as a VNC client, meaning it connects to devices that have a VNC server enabled. Could you please clarify whether you are using the RMS Remote Access link with the Guacamole VNC client to connect to your Mac mini device?

Best regards,

Hi,

I am having a problem connecting to routers with the VNC protocol. In all cases, the error “Timeout” appears followed by “Guacamole client stopped.” I do not have access configured with username and password, but it has worked this way for all the accesses I have had for some time. Could there be a particular error today?

Thank you!

Hello @Tomas.SantaCruz,

Could you please check whether the issue with the VNC connection persists? There have recently been some changes made related to this error.

If the issue continues, please let us know so we can investigate further.

Best regards,

Hi,

Now is working!

Thank you
