RMS Company vs Device Data

Hello
I’m confused about data allowances.
I’m trying to access a RUT200 using VPN hub.
I burned through the initial 4GB data (surprisingly quickly!)

So I purchased a 150GB package, which says it can be used for VPN

I activated the code for my RUT200, and I can see the device has 150GB allowance now, but the VPN won’t start because

“This VPN hub has been turned off because company has no remaining data.”

Should I have purchased credits and converted them to company data instead?

Hi calcut,

Welcome to Teltonika Networks Community!

Once you activate your RMS data pack, you need to assign in to a specific device. The reason for this is for you to store your RMS data packs and use it once required. To assign packs, select your device → Pack → Select Pack. Select the Data pack option and click on Save.

Please note that when using data packs, only the assigned device is able to utilize this pack.

Let me know if this helps.

Regards,

Yes, I assigned the data to the device already.
The problem is my VPN hub won’t start.

Its sounding like I have to buy yet another add-on?

I’ve already bought the management add-on and a 150GB data add on.
But because my “company data” has run out I can’t connect via VPN.
Not an ideal user experience / onboarding.

How should I get more company data?

Hi,

How many devices are added in your RMS VPN? If you already run out of company data, then only devices with data pack will be able to utilize RMS VPN.

Kindly refer to this link for RMS VPN configuration for rechecking of settings.

Regards,

Ok, thanks.
There was only 1 device and 1 RMS user in the VPN (so 2 clients)

The error messages were confusing, it definitely said
“This VPN hub has been turned off because company has no remaining data.”

but I got it going by removing the RMS user, disabling and re-enabling the VPN here

Then the data error message went away and I was able to re-add the RMS user. It appears to be working now. I’m not even certain if I needed to remove the RMS user or just disable and enable.
