RMS Alerts & Automations

Hello
What is the correct way of configuring the RMS Alerts & Automations, so that a RUTX-device online connectivity loss is detected and the RMS admin alerted (through e-mail or RMS App).
I am looking for the configuration regarding the mobile connection and optionally the WAN connection.
I know that the correct menu in RMS is Management / Alert & Automations, then under Actions → Create Automation, but there I can’t find the correct parameter under “Dynamic monitoring” template.

The goal is, as explained, as soon as the mobile router loses internet connectivity (on mobile network or WAN), that an admin gets alerted in order to check the cause of the connectivity loss, because the use case is quite critical. Also the reaction should be as quick as possible, meaning the keep-alives (status-checks) should be set to the shortest period.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Best regards
Bob

Hello,

You can follow the answer I’ve provided here: Alerts & Automations | Device Status Change - #3 by MatasR

If the router loses connection to the internet, it will automatically become offline in RMS, meaning it will send you an email (or whatever you pick) as a notification.

Otherwise, you can try using Events reporting, however, do note that it’ll be removed with future firmware releases: RUTX50 Events Reporting - Teltonika Networks Wiki

Hi Matas
Thanks for this recommendation.

Hi Selena,
Thanks for this advice, but under Alerts & Automations > Create Automation, then under Dynamic Monitoring, the drop down list with the parameters displays a lot of parameters, but not “Device goes offline”.
The only parameters available with “device” are:

  • Device connection type
  • Device uptime
