Problema con RUT951 – No puedo acceder ni hacer reset de fábrica

Hola a todos,

Hoy he encendido por primera vez mi router RUT951.

Greetings,

Could you clarify what LEDs are active on the device? Are they blinking or are they stationary?

Did you change anything in the routers settings or the end device’s settings when the router became unresponsive or did it just happen suddenly out of nowhere?

You could try to use our bootloader menu to update the device firmware and see if that resolves the issue. This is a last resort recovery option, and it is used to differentiate between software and hardware problems. In essence, the bootloader is a safety net, providing a reliable method to restore the functionality of the device when other troubleshooting steps have failed: Bootloader menu - Teltonika Networks Wiki

It would be great if we continued the communication in English from now on, so nothing gets misunderstood in the translation.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. Here are the details:

  • LEDs status:
When the router starts normally, all LEDs light up briefly and then behave as usual (power LED solid, LAN LED solid when cable connected).
When I try to enter bootloader mode (holding the reset button while powering on), all LEDs start blinking simultaneously, but I still cannot access 192.168.1.1 from my PC.

  • Configuration changes:
Before the problem appeared, I only changed the LAN interface IP address and some basic network settings. After that, the router suddenly stopped responding to WebUI and SSH — I did not change anything else.

  • Current situation:

    • The device responds to ping at the custom LAN IP address that I set previously.

    • WebUI does not load, SSH does not connect.

    • Reset button (12s press) does not restore factory defaults — the router keeps the last LAN IP.

I have already tried the bootloader recovery procedure from the Wiki, but I cannot access the bootloader page (192.168.1.1) even when all LEDs are blinking. My PC is configured with a static IP (192.168.1.2/24) directly connected to the router.

Could this indicate that the bootloader itself is not working properly, or should I try any additional steps before we consider an RMA?

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,

Thank you for the reply, there are a few things you can try, when you enter 192.168.1.1 add /index.html to it, so it should look like this 192.168.1.1/index.html and if the link changes to https:// try removing the s, leave only http and try again. If that doesn’t work change it so your PC gets the IP address automatically and try to reach 192.168.1.1 again.

Can you reach the WebUI through the IP address that you set on the LAN interface? Make sure to have your computer set to obtain ip address automatically.

If these options do not help, you should contact your distributor and go through the RMA procedure, because the issue could be with the flash memory of the device, since after a reset the device still keeps the old IP. The things I suggested should still be done because the device goes into the bootloader menu if the LEDs are blinking.

Hello,

Thank you for your suggestions. Here is what I have tried:

  • Accessed http://192.168.1.1/index.html → page does not load.

  • When the browser tries to redirect to HTTPS, I removed the “s” and tried again → still no access.

  • Changed my PC to obtain IP automatically (DHCP enabled) → no WebUI access.

  • Tried again with a static IP in the 192.168.1.x range → still no WebUI access.

Important note:
The router always keeps the LAN IP range I configured previously (192.168.2.x) even after multiple factory reset attempts.
If I set my PC to that same range, the device replies to ping, but WebUI and SSH are still unreachable.

So far the situation has not changed:

  • Device responds to ping only at the previously configured LAN IP.

  • WebUI does not open, SSH does not work.

  • Factory reset does not restore default settings (device keeps previous IP).

  • Bootloader LEDs blinking but cannot access 192.168.1.1 page.

Based on your reply, I understand that this could indicate a flash memory issue.
Should we proceed with RMA in this case?

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,

Thank you for trying the troubleshooting steps I suggested. In this case, it is a hardware issue, and you should proceed with the RMA procedure, for warranty repairs. If you have bought through a vendor - Contact your vendor for further assistance with the RMA procedure. Here you can find more information about RMA procedure: RMA - Teltonika Networks Wiki

If you have bought the device directly from us, then contact us through HelpDesk or contact your sales manager.

I recommend mentioning the serial number in the first message when you contact the vendor or us, so it saves you some time.

Justinas
