I have set up a VPN using the RMS cloud on my newly purchased RUTX08 device. The device’s LAN port is connected to the same Cisco switch as my server, and I have assigned it a static IP. Both the RUTX08 and the server are on the same network. However, after logging into the RMS VPN, I am unable to ping or RDP into the server.
Server IP: 192.168.254.226 /24
RUTX08 IP: 192.168.254.200 /24
Thank you for your reply, I just wanted to clarify, from CLI of my RUT i can’t ping the server also I can’t ping RUT from my server. I have downloaded the RMS vpn software from RMS cloud and I believe its beta. I have executed factory reset on my device and will start from scratch.
after the factory reset, i was able to ping from RUT cli to server and from Server to RUT ip address. i downloaded openvpn application and import vpn configuration. I was able to login but still can’t ping or RDP to my server from VPN.
When you wrote… “I was able to login”… are you saying… using RMS VPN at my computer, I can login to RUT.
But… When try to do a ping, still using VPN, you cannot ping your SERVER. Correct?
So… The gateway of your server (RDP) is the RUT?
Yes, i was able to login to vpn but couldn’t ping the IP of the server or the LAN interface from my laptop connected to RMS VPN.
my Cisco switch is a layer 3 switch and gateway is the vlan IP 192.168.254.254
the gateway of my server is my VLAN interface 192.168.254.254
from my laptop while connected to rms vpn I couldn’t ping LAN interface of RUT 192.168.254.200 or my server ip 192.168.254.226
IP address of my machine is 192.168.255.10
RUT and my Server is on the same network, I am not routing anything to RUT, its just another device on the same network
