Powering TWS101 and RUT956 with single vehicle 12vdc

Hi, I’m planning to connecting two PoE+ cameras to a TWS101 and a RUT956 to get the data to the cloud.

First questions is powering both devices: Will a single 12vdc cable vehicle connected cable be sufficient for both devices? If yes, how do i power both devices with a single cable - is there a accessory or do we need to fabricate something?

Thanks for any guidance!

Hi…

I did this at my car… but don’t use TSW101… just power the both router and the cameras, using a direct cable from the battery. I install a fuse between battery and the devices.

Thanks for the idea.

To clarify the question, we’re essentially wondering the best method to power both devices from a single cable from the battery. We’re assuming we don’t need to pull a separate power cable for each individual device. It seems like it must be a common issue - but there doesn’t seem to be an Teltonika accessory that makes it easy to split it into dual 4 pin plugs. As a result we’re wondering if there’s something we’re missing in our design.

We’re aware of the passive poe option - but this also required an additional conversion device.

Wondering how the community typically solves this? thanks for any guidance!

I just use a fuse and a Terminal Block connector… (two)…

Like this…

I know… very simple… but… it is just for a personal usage… so… It is working, very well.

Thanks again. Great to know it works that way. Something like with but with dual 4 pin plugs instead of a terminal block would be perfect. Then we could use the standard accessories available.
