Port forward for tailscale

Hi Community,

I have installed the tailscale plugin and have direct public ip on the interface, no cgnat I tried using port forward and traffic rules (not sure why there are 2 practically same things on rutos) to allow direct connections to udp port 41641 but the port is still closed when tried probing externally

is the plugin listening on udp 41641 or is it something else?

thank you

Hello,

By default, there’s no need to open a port or anything (especially when you have a direct public IP) in order to join a tailscale network (at least from my last testing).

But if you really wanted to ensure that the port is open, you can just configure a new instance in the traffic rules (which is what you did).
